What to Expect from Your Reiki Session

Have you just booked your very first Reiki healing session, or do you simply want to know more about what you can expect if you do? Then you’re in the right place! Here is a quick overview of what you can expect before, during, and after your Reiki healing session. 

Before the Session 

It’s perfectly normal to feel a little nervous before your session, so here are some ways that you can prepare in advance. 

  • Remove any rings, glasses, necklaces, and other jewellery that might be in the way during your session. 

  • Wear comfortable, clean, and loose-fitting clothes and easily removable shoes. 

  • Switch off your phone and mobile devices so that you won’t disturb your focus.

  • Try to relax! Your Reiki healer will guide you through every step of the way.  

    During the Session 

Your practitioner will start by lightly placing their hands on different areas of your body, like the head, neck, back, and torso. It’s important to note that practitioners will never place their hands on inappropriate or intrusive places. The practitioner will simply rest their hands on your skin without applying pressure. 

You’ll experience a deep state of relaxation and calm during your session, and it’s common to dose off at some point. You’ll be conscious of your surroundings, aware of your own body, and totally at ease. 

After the Session 

Most people report feeling deeply relaxed, calm, and stress-free after their Reiki healing session, even if the session itself might not have been particularly eventful. You might also experience a better night’s sleep after your session, or feel more centered and positive throughout the next few days.
